PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To make the management of resume information flexible, and to improve the convenience of a user. SOLUTION: The multichannel recording and reproducing server includes: a tuner device for simultaneously receiving a plurality of channels; a recorder; a recording and reproducing control part for outputting a received program signal from the tuner device or a reproducing program signal reproduced in the recorder; a signal output part for outputting the selected program signal from the recording and reproducing control part to a display part through a network connection part; a client management part for managing client/resume relating information for which the resume information of a plurality of clients for respective programs is related; a distribution processing part for performing the distribution of multiplexing the client/resume relating information on program guide information when the resume information is requested from an optional one of the plurality of clients through an operation input reception part; and a resume information processing part for processing the takeover/transfer of the resume information corresponding to operation input.
