<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an improved protein of protein G extracellular domain which does not deteriorate the antibody-binding action of the protein G extracellular domain and improves the stability of protein molecule such as thermal stability, chemical stability against modifying agents, and resistance to proteases. <P>SOLUTION: This improved protein of protein G extracellular domain is obtained by selecting an amino acid residue in a partial segment, having a three-dimensional structure stabilized by the interaction of amino acid residues close to the amino acid sequence of the domain with the three-dimensional structure coordinate data of the protein G extracellular domain, as a mutation target site, selecting an amino acid residue high in appearance frequency in a conformation identical or similar to the conformation of the partial segment, as another amino acid residue for replacing the mutation target site, and then replacing the mutation target site. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2009,JPO&INPIT |
