PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a system providing proper information about a desired commodity to a purchaser.

SOLUTION: This information provision system includes: a commodity information reading means reading commodity specification information for specifying the commodity from a commodity information storage means attached to the commodity; a commodity information acquisition means acquiring commodity information for describing the commodity corresponding to the commodity specification information read by the commodity information reading means from a prescribed storage means; and an output processing means outputting the commodity information acquired by the commodity information acquisition means from an output means.
