<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an air purifier provided with a function of decomposing odors and stains stuck to a surface without using an ultraviolet irradiation means. <P>SOLUTION: In the air purifier, visible light responsive photocatalyst powder, which is tungsten oxide photocatalyst powder having such a color that a* is ≤-5, b* is ≥-5 and L* is ≥50 when expressed by the L*a*b* color system, is applied to at least a part of a filter base material surface.
