<p><P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a device and a method for mending weld joints of piping in a core spray line inside a boiling water reactor or making replacement for them. <P>SOLUTION: A clamping device supports a weld joint between joint pipes or replaces it structurally. The clamping device is equipped with an upside clamp body (12) and an underside clamp body (14), which can be fixed onto both sides of the joint pipes so as to face each other in a physical relation; and at least one clamp bolt (16) which joints the upside and underside clamp bodies and can extend through the joint pipes. Either of the upside or the underside clamp bodies (12 and 14) has at least one dent shape (22) that accepts a clamp bolt nut (18), shaped complementarily so that it can be interlocked with the clamp bolt (16).
