PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an injection press molding method for a thin sheet-like optical molding, molding the relatively thin sheet-like optical molding with an excellent optical characteristic at a satisfactory yield, in a short molding cycle, while restraining a cost. SOLUTION: A molding material is injected to be filled into a cavity 14 under the condition where a mold 11 is opened by a prescribed amount, the molding material injected into the cavity 14 is compressed after mold-clamped by a mold clamping device 5, and the thin sheet-like optical molding is thereby molded by performing injection press molding, and the mold is clamped at a mold clamping speed set based on a pressure elevation time from a compression start of the molding material up to reach to set mold clamping force, and based on a mold opened amount at an injection start time.
