PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a display device capable of compensating for the variations in the capacity value of an electrooptical device, accompanying variations in the value of a voltage applied to the electrooptical device, without having to equip it with a frame memory. SOLUTION: The display device has data wiring lines Dj so that it corresponds to source wiring lines Sj one to one, and each pixel formation unit has a first TFT 21 between a source wiring line Sj and a pixel electrode 23 and a second TFT 22 between a data wiring line Dj and the pixel electrode 23. In a first period, the first TFT 21 and the second TFT 22 are turned off, to apply a source high voltage VH to the source wiring line Sj and to apply a common electrode voltage to the data wiring line DJ. In a second period, the second TFT 22 is turned on, and the first TFT 21 is placed in a semiconductive state. In a third period, electric charges corresponding to a grayscale value are supplied to the source wiring line Sjm while the second TFT 22 is turned off and the first TFT 21 is placed in the semiconductive state.
