PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an image forming device in which a constitution for setting the initializing of hardware directly after starting the device is arranged only at an image processing section side. SOLUTION: The image forming device has a plurality of image forming sections and an image processing section, the image processing section has a connecter identifying circuit constituted of a waveform identifying IC for reading the startup of waveforms of a power source fed to the image processing section, a recording element, and batteries, the waveform identifying IC detects the startup of power source voltage waveforms, identifies a connected image forming section from waveform information recorded in the recording element, reads image processing section initializing data corresponding to the connected image forming section among an initializing data group stored in the recording element, carries out the initializing processing of the IC of the image processing section, and reads image processing section software corresponding to the connected image forming section.
