FUNCTIONAL FINE PARTICLE, METHOD FOR PRODUCING THE SAME, AND COATING COMPOSITION FORMED BY BLENDING THE SAME

PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide functional fine particles, a production method for them, and a coating composition formed by blending them, which serve as a material exhibiting ultraviolet absorptivity and antioxidation ability for a certain period without blocking light in application to the coating composition such as a coating material and cosmetics. SOLUTION: In the functional fine particles and the production method for them, an ultraviolet absorbing agent and/or an antioxidant are/is bonded to the surfaces of fine particles (preferably, silica fine particles having a hydroxy group on the surface layer and a particle diameter of 1-100 nm), by graft polymerization.
