PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a float type steam trap capable of easily and reliably cleaning foreign matters deposited on an inner surface of a discharging passage. SOLUTION: A trap casing is formed of a body 1 and a lid 2, and an inlet 5, an inlet-valve seat passage 3, a valve chest 4, and an outlet 7 are constituted therein. A globe valve seat member 9 is arranged in a turnably manner on a lower part of the valve chest 4. A grinding member 12 is mounted on a rotating part of the globe valve seat member 9. A T-shaped discharging passage 8 is provided in the globe valve seat member 9. A passage end 10 of the discharging passage 8 is opened in the valve chest 4, and opened/closed in an outer surface of a ball type float 13. By turning the globe valve seat member 9 clockwise by 90°, a passage end 11 is opened to the inlet-valve seat passage 3 side, the passage end 10 is opened to the outlet 7 side, and the discharging passage 8 between the passage ends 11, 10 can be cleaned with fluid on the inlet 5 side.
