PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a machine tool improving access management to the machine tool.

SOLUTION: The machine tool (101) has multiple operating functions and selection units (113a-113d) for selecting one or multiple operating functions by a user. A receiving unit (112) is provided for receiving data from a mobile data carrier (311) to determine the operation function to be executed by the user. An access control unit (130) is arranged to permit the user to access only the operating function selected and permitted.
