PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a boiling-water sterilizing device capable of rapidly disinfecting a container for storing and conveying onions, potatoes, etc. for sterilization or insecticidal operation without using any medicine. SOLUTION: The boiling-water sterilizing device 1 is equipped with a tank 5 which is demarcated by an intermediate partition 2 approximately at a center into a first boiling-water sterilizing tank 3 and a second boiling-water sterilizing tank 4, a support guide 6 for guiding a container into the first boiling-water sterilizing tank 3 and the second boiling-water sterilizing tank 4 from an upper part, a drain pan which is freely installed in the tank 5 so as to be attachable and detachable, a heat insulation cap 7 for freely covering an upper end of the tank 5 so as to be attachable and detachable, water feed means (8 and 9) for feeding water to the tank 5, and a steam pipe 10 for feeding steam to the tank 5. An overflow part 21 for overflowing water above the predetermined water level from the first boiling-water sterilizing tank 3 into the second boiling-water sterilizing tank 4 is formed on an upper end part of the intermediate partition 2.
