PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide electrophotographic toner in which ester wax is finely and uniformly dispersed and which has excellent offset resistance and durability, and a method for manufacturing the toner. SOLUTION: The electrophotographic toner comprises a binder resin, the ester wax and a wax assistant; wherein the ester wax and the wax assistant satisfy an expression (A):Tc<SB>2</SB>-Tc<SB>1</SB>>1.0 (where Tc<SB>1</SB>represents an exothermic peak temperature (°C) of the ester wax by differential scanning calorimetry and Tc<SB>2</SB>represents the exothermic peak temperature (°C) of a mixture of the ester wax and the wax assistant in a weight ratio of 99/1 (ester wax/wax assistant) by differential scanning calorimetry), and in a cross-sectional observation of the toner using a transmission electron microscope (TEM), the proportion of the ester wax and/or the wax assistant having a domain area of not less than 0.4μm<SP>2</SP>is not more than 1% by area.
