<p>According to the invention, wood material is treated with a composition comprising at least one C1-C7 monocarboxylic acid or a salt, or mixtures thereof, and at least one chelating agent. These compounds are dissolved in a liquid aqueous vehicle. In this manner, the treated wood is endowed with excellent resistance against detrimental environmental effects.</p> |
