<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To prevent a presser locked at an advanced position from being laterally moved. <P>SOLUTION: A writing utensil has a barrel 10, and the presser 42 engaged slidably in an axial direction in the barrel 10 and exposed from the outer circumference surface of this barrel 10. In the case of the advanced position of the presser 30, the writing unit 21 is projected from the barrel 10, and in the case of the retreated position of the same presser 30, the writing unit 21 is immersed in the barrel 10.
