<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide: a test writing method and an information-recording device for recording information by pouring energy onto a recording medium to form marks different from unrecorded parts; and a test writing method for accurately finding, in a short time period, optimum recording power under high-speed recording conditions. <P>SOLUTION: In a 2T-system strategy, the test writing of an even number length mark and odd number length mark is individually conducted to find each optimum recording power.
