PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an image processing apparatus capable of recording image data suitable for use by both an endoscope device and an external device. SOLUTION: An image processing section 7 performs image processing on image data generated by imaging by an endoscope 1. An image recording/reproduction section 8 records the image data before the predetermined image processing and the image data after the predetermined image processing in portable media 9 in a recording mode. Further, the image recording/reproduction section 8 reads the image data before the predetermined image processing out of the portable media 9 and outputs the image data to an image processing section 7 in a reproduction mode.
