The system has lenses supported in a supported receiving device and movable between a utilization position and a non-utilization position. The lenses are shiftable between the utilization position and the non-utilization position by the movement relative to the receiving device. The lenses are shifted coaxial to an optical measuring axis, in the utilization position, by rotatable components (9a, 9b) and pivot arms (10a, 10b). The optical measuring axis runs outside the lenses in the non-utilization position. An independent claim is also included for a method for operating a lens rotating system for rotating a lens in an optical measuring device.
