The device has a feed pump (10) connected with a drive unit that comprises an engine (20) e.g. electric motor, where the engine cooperates with a hydromechanical drive (25) that is coupled with the feed pump. The engine is coupled with a hydraulic pump (23) that is hydraulically connected with the hydromechanical drive by a hydraulic circuit. The hydraulic circuit has hydraulic and branch lines (24, 27) to connect the hydromechanical drive to the hydraulic pump. The hydraulic circuit has a conveyor line (11) that is connected with the hydraulic pump. An independent claim is also included for a method for conveying liquids from underground sources to the earth's surface.
