Provided is a recording device which creates an optical disc recognized as a finalized disc even if an unexpected power supply interruption or a significant write error has occurred before a finalization process is completed. The recording device records information in a write-once type recording medium having a user data region, a first management information region, an indicator region, and a second management information region in this order on the recording plane. The recording device includes an optical head and a control unit which instructs the optical head to recording information. The control unit makes an instruction to record the management information in the first information region, an instruction to record the indicator information indicating whether the management information has been recorded, in the indicator region, and an instruction to record the management information identical to the one recorded in the first management information region, in the second management information region.
