<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a lithium secondary battery which has improved safety, mainly coming from use of an electrolyte which is not inflammable at room temperature (20°C), while not deteriorating output characteristics at low temperature and room temperature and output maintenance characteristics after storage at high temperature (50°C). <P>SOLUTION: In the lithium secondary battery, a cathode capable of storing/releasing lithium ions, an anode capable of storing/releasing lithium ions, a separator arranged between the cathode and the anode, and an organic electrolyte are encased in a container. The organic electrolyte is organized by a cyclic carbonate solvent, a chained carbonate solvent, and a compound such as VC at composition ratios of 18.0 to 30.0 vol%, 74.0 to 81.9 vol%, and 0.1 to 1.0 vol%, respectively, to the whole solvents. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2009,JPO&INPIT |
