<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To solve the problem of a conventional LED display by using an improved type LED display including a light source substrate on the surface of which LED elements comprised of three primary colors of a red color element (R), a green color element (G) and a blue color element (B) as one pixel unit light source are suitably disposed, so that a liquid crystal cell controls light emitting from each pixel in a state that the light sources are turned on. <P>SOLUTION: In the improved type LED display which includes the light source substrate on the surface of which the stripe-shaped light sources are longitudinally or laterally disposed at a predetermined interval and a liquid crystal cell disposed on at least one surface and wherein light of three primary colors of a red color (R), a green color (G) and a blue color (B) is made incident from end surfaces of the stripe-shaped light sources and the light is radiated from outer peripheral surfaces of the stripe-shaped light sources to perform control using the liquid crystal cell, all the light sources are turned on and with such a state maintained the liquid crystal cells are driven to let the light from the light sources pass or to cut it off, so that the liquid crystal cell controls light emission from each pixel. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2009,JPO&INPIT |
