PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a traction device permitting recognition of the increase/decrease of the quantity of traction. SOLUTION: The traction device comprises an operable input part, a braking part to generate the resistance against the operation of the input part by applying the braking force to the input part; traction parts 69a, 69b, 70a and 70b to draw traction members 71a and 71b; traction command generating parts 64a, 64b, 68a and 68b to generate control command signals to the traction parts 69a, 69b, 70a and 70b so that the traction members 71a and 71b are drawn according to the operation of the input part 32; traction quantity detecting parts 72a, 72b and 74 to detect the quantity of traction of the traction members 71a and 71b; traction quantity increase/decrease discriminating parts 78, 80 and 82 to discriminate the increase/decrease of the quantity of traction detected by the traction quantity detecting parts 72a, 72b and 74; and braking control parts 76 and 84 to control the braking part according to the result of discrimination by the traction quantity increase/decrease discriminating parts 78, 80 and 82.
