PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a system for reducing an acoustic load of a fluid flow. SOLUTION: The system for reducing the acoustic load of the fluid flow includes a first pipe (1). The first pipe (1) includes a first end and a second end, and a first aperture (21) and a second aperture (24). The first and second apertures (21, 24) are intermediate the first and second ends. A second pipe (4) includes a first end and a second end, and a third aperture (22) intermediate the first and second ends. The second pipe (4) is connected at its first end to the first pipe (1) at the first aperture (21). A bypass pipe (20) includes a first end connected to the second aperture (24) of the first pipe (1) and a second end connected to the third aperture (22) of the second pipe (4). A method of reducing an acoustic load of a flow in a standpipe (4) connected to a first pipe (1) configured to carry a main flow includes a process for providing a bypass flow from the first pipe to the standpipe (4).
