PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a galvanized steel member having excellent corrosion resistance and weldability, and to provide a coated steel member having excellent corrosion resistance obtained by applying coating to the steel member. SOLUTION: The galvanized steel member having excellent corrosion resistance and weldability is characterized in that the surface of a steel member is provided with a galvanized layer comprising, by mass, 1 to 10% Mg, 2 to 19% Al, 0.01 to 2% Si and 2 to 75% Fe, and the balance Zn with inevitable impurities.
