PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a vending machine capable of assuring a robbery preventing property of displayed articles without increasing the number of components. SOLUTION: The vending machine includes: a feeding bucket 32 for receiving articles displayed in an article display device; an X-Y feeding mechanism for movably supporting the feeding bucket 32, and transferring the feeding bucket 32 to accept an article in any position in the article display device and to transfer the article to a carrying-out position when a sales instruction is given; and an article bucket 41 displaceably disposed between a receiving posture capable of receiving an article from the feeding bucket 32 in the carrying-out position and a taking-out posture allowing the article to be taken out through an article outlet 5a2. The X-Y feeding mechanism closes a path to the article display device from the article outlet 5a2 through a moving area of the feeding bucket when transferring the feeding bucket 32 to the carrying-out position, and locates the feeding bucket 32 at the carrying-out position until the bucket restores the receiving posture when the article bucket 41 in the receiving posture is displaced.
