PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a bookbinding apparatus which enables energy saving, cost reduction, and odor emission control by controlling a heater temperature properly after bookbinding processing, and conducts paint application without causing paint unevenness. SOLUTION: The bookbinding apparatus stirs glue by actuating a stirring member at least partly during an off-time of the heater which heats the glue in a glue bath to melt it.
