<p><P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To increase use efficiency of a sorbent in a dry type treating method wherein gas to be treated is continuously led in/led out of a reaction tube having a reaction zone formed with a packed layer consisting of the sorbent, and the gas to be treated is contactingly reacted with the sorbent for dry type treatment. <P>SOLUTION: In this dry type treating method, the gas to be treated is continuously led in/led out of the reaction tube 22 having the reaction zone 38 formed with the packed layer 20 consisting of the basic sorbent (sorbent), and the gas to be treated is contactingly reacted with the sorbent. Used sorbent is subjected to abrasion and/or crushing to produce granule for regeneration. The granule for regeneration is classified to eliminate particles smaller than a given particle size to obtain a regenerated sorbent.
