<p><P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a control method of speed change of an automatic transmission capable of enhancing the speed change feeling without realizing any intermediate speed change stage between the N speed change stage and the N-3 speed change stage when making speed change from the N speed change stage to the N-3 speed change stage, and simultaneously controlling four friction elements without any speed detection means. <P>SOLUTION: In the control method of speed change of the automatic transmission for controlling the speed change from the N speed change stage to be realized by the coupling of first and second friction elements to the N-3 speed change stage to be realized by the coupling of third and fourth friction elements, the release of the second friction element is started after starting the release of the first friction element; the coupling of the fourth friction element is started after starting the coupling of the third friction element; and the coupling of the third friction element is completed after completing the release of the second friction element. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2009,JPO&INPIT</p> |
