<p><P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a fixing device, which prevents collision noise when gears collide with each other even if permanent distortion occurs in roller members forming a fixing nip part, and to provide an image forming apparatus. <P>SOLUTION: The fixing device comprises two roller members which form a nip portion in which a recording medium is pressed by a pressing means and conveyed, and a drive gear 63 which is engaged with a shaft part 31a of one of the two roller members to transmit driving force to the one roller member. A key 63a is formed on the drive gear 63, and a key groove 31a1 having a gap opened therein is formed on the shaft part 31a, so that the transmission of driving force from the drive gear 63 to the shaft part 31a is interrupted, when the rotating speed of the roller member is increased, to slide the drive gear 63 on the shaft part 31a. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2009,JPO&INPIT</p> |
