<p><P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To preserve a binary format in a part which is common to both an original MPEG-7 description scheme and an extended description scheme by solving the following problems because for the binary representation of a description corresponding to an extended description scheme, the same principles as in the MPEG-7 binary format could in principle be used, however, the resulting binary format would be different from the binary format of the original MPEG-7 description scheme, even for the identical parts of both description schemes. <P>SOLUTION: An extended tree branch code is included in a multimedia data binary format, and by the extended tree branch code, it is notified that one part of a description scheme for multimedia is the same as a description scheme defined in advance and to be a base and that the other part describes extension of a description scheme about the description scheme defined in advance to be a base. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2009,JPO&INPIT</p> |
