PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a magnesium alloy member having high metallic texture. SOLUTION: The magnesium alloy member comprises a base material consisting of a magnesium alloy, and a covering layer formed on the base material. The base material has a surface worked part with very fine unevenness so as to obtain the metallic texture at least on a part of its surface, and the covering layer is transparent. The member has the surface worked part to effectively enhance the metallic texture. Further, the member has the covering layer and excellent in corrosion resistance. Still further, the member has the transparent covering layer to easily feel the metallic texture by the surface worked part.
