METHOD FOR PRODUCING CARBON NITRIDE

PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a method for efficiently producing carbon nitride while using a simple method and an apparatus. SOLUTION: The method for producing carbon nitride by an electrochemical process using a molten salt comprises the steps of: (a) preparing an electrolytic bath made from the molten salts containing a carbonate ion (CO32-) and a nitrate ion (NO3-); (b) arranging a working electrode (a cathode) and a counter electrode (an anode) in the electrolytic bath for producing the carbon nitride; and (c) producing the carbon nitride on the surface of the working electrode by energizing the working electrode so as to have a potential with respect to the counter electrode, with which the carbonate ion and the nitrate ion are reduced.
