The device has a backrest unit (10) and a headrest unit (12), where the headrest unit has a supporting unit, which is provided to guide a part (16) of the headrest unit in a supporting position and a retaining position (20). The part of the headrest unit is arranged on a side (24) facing a main support surface (22) and perpendicular to a direction (26) of the main support surface. A partial liner (30) forming the main support surface is formed as a single piece with a liner (32) of the part of the headrest unit. A drive unit (40) is provided in the supporting unit for moving the part.
