IRREVERSIBLE CIRCUIT ELEMENT

An irreversible circuit element which can apply a DC magnetic field with uniform density to a required part of a ferrite without impairing low profile and can enhance insertion loss. The irreversible circuit element (two port type isolator) comprises a permanent magnet (41), a ferrite (32) to which a DC magnetic field is applied by the permanent magnet (41), and a first central electrode (35) and a second central electrode (36) arranged on the ferrite (32). The permanent magnet (41) is arranged oppositely the major surfaces (32a, 32b) of the ferrite (32) and a portion facing the interconnection electrodes formed on the upper and lower surfaces (32c, 32d) is formed thicker than other portion.
