The system comprises a vacuum pump 8 for drawing the air through a filter at a constant flow rate which is reduced by conductance or a restriction downstream. An electronic timer 10 controls the pump and thus the volume flow through the filter. Operational conditions acting on the sample are determined by system back pressure measurement, e.g. using a gauge 7. The system is used to detect the possibility of explosives in accordance with RASCO requirements. The pump 8 is a rotary vane pump. The system is carried on a trolley. |
