摘要 Method and arrangement for automatically optically inspecting natural wood surfaces on the production line, wherein a natural wood surface (12) to be inspected is illuminated with first linear illumination (18) while oriented at a small angle, and a first line-scan camera (20) detects the shine of the first linear illumination (18), which is reflected at the surface, at an at least approximately identical symmetrical angle. Image processing and pattern recognition methods are used to extract local physical properties of the surface from a grey-scale value image produced by the first line-scan camera (20). Furthermore, the natural wood surface (12) to be inspected is illuminated with second linear illumination (30) using ultraviolet light which is not visible to the human eye, and a second line-scan camera (32) which is sensitive only to the ultraviolet spectral range of illumination detects the surface which has been subjected to UV illumination. Image processing and pattern recognition methods are likewise used to extract local physical properties of the surface from a grey-scale value image produced by the second line-scan camera (32). A quality assessment of the individual regions of the surface of the wood and of the entire product is calculated from the combination of the two image evaluation operations.
