DISK DRIVE DEVICE AND CLEARANCE CONTROL METHOD THEREFOR

A disk drive device and a clearance control method thereof are provided to determine the adjustment amount of a clearance through a contact inspection result between a head and a disk. A disk drive device comprises: a head accessing to a disc; a moving unit maintaining the head and moving the head on the disc; an adjusting unit controlling the clearance between the disc and the head; a temperature sensor(17); and a controller controlling the adjusting unit. The controller verifies the contact of the disc and the head if the clearance change amount exceeds a criteria ranger. The adjustment amount of the clearance is determined based on an inspection result of the contact.
