A method for conveniently and quickly measuring high-density lipoprotein cholesterol (HDL-C) in a body fluid sample such as blood, which uses a polycyclic polyglycidol compound, for example, a polyglycidol compound represented by the following general formula (1):
wherein L represents a C 1 -C 5 alkylene group, R represents an aryl group, m represents an integer of 1 to 5, and n represents an integer of 3 to 20, as a high-density lipoprotein selective surfactant.
