MOBILE WIRELESS COMMUNICATIONS DEVICE ANTENNA ASSEMBLY WITH FLOATING DIRECTOR ELEMENTS ON FLEXIBLE SUBSTRATE AND RELATED METHODS

A mobile communications device antenna assembly and a related method having a floating guide device on a flexible substrate are provided to supply the performance characteristic desired within a space of the limited quantity which is able to use an antenna. A PCB(Printed Circuit Board) comprises a ground plane supported by a hand-held type housing(24). A wireless communications circuit(38) is supported by the PCB. The antenna assembly is supported by the hand-held type housing. The antenna assembly comprises a flexile substrate(45), a conductive antenna device, a pair of floating electric conductance guide devices. The electric conductance guide devices are on the flexible substrate and connected on a wireless communications and ground plane. The floating electric conductance guide devices guides the beam pattern of the antenna element on the opposing side of the flexible substrate.
