A proxy for DOM event process about a modality capable of processing the various modality through proxy, a multi-modal terminal, a DOM method for processing event and a modality synchronization method are provided to synchronize the DOM event about the modality between the multi-modal terminal and multi-modal server. A web browser(11) browses a web document by hosting web browser control provided by the operating system of a multi-modal terminal(10). A proxy object(71) is mounted on web browser control between the web browser and web document element(72). The proxy object arranges the document object model event generated in the web document element to the web browser. The proxy object arranges the document control event delivered from the web browser' to the corresponding web document element.
