A mobile communication terminal and an operation method thereof are provided to manage and process data stored in a USIM card efficiently and quickly by linking the data with a database. A USIM(Universal Subscriber ID Module) interface unit(230) is connected to a USIM card. A controller(240) draws out a basic file stored in the USIM card, generates a database including data stored in the basic file, and then stores the database in a memory(220). The controller synchronizes the database with the data stored in the USIM card, and extracts data requested by an application from the USIM card according to the database.
