METHOD AND DEVICE FOR THE AUTOMATED IDENTIFICATION OF BOBBIN TUBES

The method involves comparing actually recorded image information e.g. color and pattern, of a bobbin tube (2) with image information of an already classified bobbin tube. The bobbin tube is identified when a fixable match of the bobbin tube with the already classified bobbin tube is obtained using a pattern matching process or a color matching process. The information is recorded by a camera e.g. charge-coupled device (CCD) camera (1), and is transmitted to an image processing device (4). The camera is arranged with respect to a middle longitudinal axis (17) of the tube in inclined manner. An independent claim is also included for a device for automated identification of a bobbin tube, comprising a charge-coupled device (CCD) camera.
