<p>A fire-resistant crucible capable of managing thermal stress and suitable for melting highly reactive alloys is provided to manage thermal stress during casting of highly reactive titanium alloy so as to melt the titanium alloy easily. A fire-resistant crucible(8) suitable for melting highly reactive alloys comprises a basis part(32), a transition part(34), a bottom part(36), a top part(38), an inlet part(40), and support rings(30) arranged in more than two circumferential parts of the crucible in order to manage specific thermal stress existing in the parts of the crucible. Each support ring contains the composition selected from a group consisting of graphite, silicon carbide, ceramic oxide, and their combination, and is equipped with a geometrical structure 1~50mm thick and 1~200mm wide.</p> |
