A method of detecting a trigger event comprises receiving (300) an input signal for analysis. The received input signal is used to generating first data (302, 304, 306, 308) corresponding to energy of a frequency content of the input signal as the input signal changes with time. At least part of the first data is then compared (408) with second data, the second data corresponding to a predetermined time-varying spectrum indicative of the trigger event. A trigger signal is then generated (412) in response to a change in a state of match between the at least part of first and the second data. |
