A vacuum cleaner includes an electric blower, a dust separation section for separating dust from air, a dust collecting section, a rotatably provided filtering separation section, a driving unit for driving the filtering separation section, and a dust removing unit 2100 for removing fine dust adhering to the filtering separation section. In the vacuum cleaner, there are provided a communication air-passage opening/closing valve K3 for opening or closing a communication air-passage communicating the dust separation section and the filtering separation section with each other, an outside-air introduction port 84F provided on a downstream side of the communication air-passage opening/ closing valve K3 and for discharging the removed fine dust to the outside by introducing outside air to an upstream side of the filtering separation section, and an outside-air opening/closing valve K6 for opening or closing the outside-air introduction port 84F, wherein, in a cleaning mode, the communication air-passage opening/ closing valve K3 is opened and the outside-air opening/closing valve K6 is closed, while in a dust removing mode, the communication air-passage opening/closing valve K3 is closed and the outside-air opening/ closing valve K6 is opened, and the communication air-passage opening/closing valve K3 and the outside-air opening/closing valve K6 are opened or closed by the rotation of the filtering separation section.
