A packet collection system using a bloom filter, a method for reducing a packet storing size in the packet collection system are provided to reduce the storage size of packets remarkably by storing filter values generated by filtering each block with a volume filter based on the linkage with headers of packets. A block driver(202) classifies some packets into predetermined blocks, and a filter unit(203) generates each filter value by performing filtering for each block individually. A storage processor(204) links the rest packets except the some packets with the filter values and stores the linked values. A comparator(205) compares the comparison data with the filter values, and checks over whether or not the comparison data are included in the packets.
