An insulating hand tool (10) has an elongated shank (15) injection molded of a high-strength, electrically insulating material, such as glass-reinforced nylon, and a handle (11) formed of an electrically insulating material. The handle (11) and shank (15) may be molded together in a one-piece construction, or the shank (15) m ay be press-fitted in the handle (11). The shank (15) is adapted to carry a working tip (25).
