A Zigbee gateway apparatus for Ethernet communication based on an IP is provided to link an internet Zigbee network conveniently by granting a private IP address to a ZigBee sensor node through an IP address conversion procedure. Plural ZigBee sensor nodes(204) receive minimum bits for device division, and at least one ZibBee coordinator(203) recognizes the information related to the ZigBee sensor nodes by being connected to the ZigBee sensor nodes. A gateway(202) grants a private IP address to each ZigBee sensor node, and a control module(205) receives the information as to the ZigBee sensor nodes from the ZigBee coordinator. Through the control module, the gateway grants the private IP address to the ZigBee sensor nodes.
