A high resolution subminiature lens assembly is provided to improve the performance of a peripheral unit by reducing the length of a lens at the high resolution. A lens assembly includes a first lens(L1), a second lens(L2), a third lens(L3), a fourth lens(L4) and a fifth lens(L5) successively which are arranged from the rear to the front of an iris diaphragm of the object side. The first lens has a positive refractive power. The second lens has a negative refractive power. At least one side of the third lens is aspherical. The third lens has the positive refractive power. The fourth lens has the negative refractive power and the aspherical surface. The fifth lens has the positive refractive power and the aspherical surface. One of the third to fifth lenses is comprised of a plastic lens.
